The sequence
Stain the patch. Name the fog. Stamp or refuse.
Ivo watches a handful of swings into a tray we wet like a Russian River morning, not like a mat that never met Sonoma dew.
1. The stain
Ink on the sole. Short hits. The patch tells us whether the toe is diving, floating, or simply not in the conversation.
2. The hours
We ask whether you play in river fog, Fountaingrove wind, or dry Bennett afternoons. Fog edits a brave scoop. Wind edits a timid one.
3. The stamp
Maren maps relief to the stain, or she parks the sole and writes a note to a teacher. We do not average a high hitch and a low skip as a courtesy.
4. The refusal
A letter you loved in a catalog is not evidence. If the stain disagrees, the letter stays a poster.
